A total of $85 million in state funds is expected to be spent on high speed connecting ramps and otherwise improving the I-74/I-155 interchange in Morton near Peoria. This project comes after two decades of planning. Construction is estimated to begin in 2013 and last a year, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. Included as part of construction is removing a rail line, adding overpasses and installing cameras.
