On February 3, 2022, The Law Firm for Truck Safety trial attorney Michael Leizerman kicked off the firm’s busy 2022 event calendar with a presentation at the West Virginia Association for Justice’s 2022 Mid-Winter Seminar.
Over 250 people attended the virtual event to learn skills, strategies, and issues facing trial lawyers. Topics ranged from federal and civil law updates, leveraging FLSA, the ethics and safety of running a law office from home, and more.

Michael gave attendees an overall look at the standards of care and how to access information needed to properly handle truck crash cases and maximize results. This included discussion of the United States Code, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, the Commercial Drivers’ License manual, industry safety materials, and more.
In the second part of his presentation, Michael examined how framing a case in the context of that which was taken –instead of that which was lost – is more than a small linguistic move. It is a powerful paradigm shift that transforms the narrative. Through this lens, damages no longer are awarded; they are something to recover.
