STLToday.com reports a fatality involving a dump truck that occurred on Wednesday, April 13 at 6:18am in St. Charles County, Missouri. According to Missouri Highway Patrol, the driver of a dump truck traveling on Highway Z North entered the southbound portion of the highway after poorly negotiating a curve in the road. The 2006 Peterbilt dump truck struck a southbound Plymouth Sundance, killing a 67 year-old male passenger from St. Charles. The driver of the Sundance and two other passengers in the vehicle sustained injuries. The highway was shut down at Stealey Road for over four hours.
KLFY reports a cement truck accident on Thursday, April 14 in Broussard, Louisiana at 10:30am. According to the Broussard Police Department, a white Dodge pickup truck was traveling on US 90 East and slowed down to turn into a business driveway. A cemment truck following behind did not break in time and overturned on top of the pickup, trapping its occupants. A 24 year-old passenger in the pickup was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The 38 year-old pickup truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital for moderate injuries. The cement truck driver will be charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle, and other charges are pending.
PennLive.com reports an 18-wheeler accident on Monday, April 18 at 2:30am in Northern York County, Manchester Township, Pennsylvania. According to police, an officer involved in a box truck accident on Interstate 83 was rear-ended by the driver of an 18-wheeler who did not see the accident. The police cruiser ended up under the box truck, trapping the officer and a DUI suspect/passenger inside. Both sustained serious injuries and were transported to York Hospital for treatment.
The Courier Post reports a fatality involving a box truck and a dump truck on Monday, April 18 in Pennsauken, New Jersey at 9:35am. Police say that the driver of a Buick LeSabre vehicle was stopped at a light at Remington Avenue on Route 73 when he was forcefully rear-ended by the driver of a box truck. The LeSabre was pushed underneath a dump truck stopped in front of it. After the dump truck was hit, it struck two additional vehicles in the vicinity of the stop light. The driver of the Buick LeSabre, a 55 year-old man from Marlton, was killed.
