The Toledo Blade reports a semi-truck accident that occurred on Thursday, August 4 at 5:25am in Maumee, Ohio. After an initial accident on Interstate 475, a second accident took place when a semi-truck with two trailers failed to brake as it approached wreckage from the earlier accident. The semi-truck struck a Dodge Ram, a Toyota Camry and a tractor-trailer. A motorcyclist was also involved in the collision. Three people were killed, including one person who had stopped to assist other motorists.
KXLH reports a semi-truck accident that occurred on Wednesday, August 3 near Billings, Montana. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a distracted driver of a semi-truck crossed the center line around 8:00pm on Highway 87, striking a Jeep and a car. Three individuals were killed at the site of the accident between mile markers 15 and 16, close to the Billings Motor Speedway. In addition, one female was hospitalized and one infant was airlifted to a hospital in Denver.
The Columbus Telegram reports a semi-truck accident that occurred on Saturday, August 6 at 11:15am in Columbus, Nebraska. A semi trailer traveling on Highway 81 North turned left on Highway 22 West, but failed to clear the intersection as a vehicle continued traveling on Highway 81 South. The semi-truck struck a 1988 Mercury, killing a 62 year-old passenger in the back seat. The 49 year-old driver of the Mercury and her 12 year-old daughter were transported to Columbus Community Hospital for injuries.
Herald-Mail.com reports a dump truck accident that occurred on Monday, August 8 at 12:50pm in Hagerstown, Maryland. According to a representative of the Maryland State Police, two people were hurt on Interstate 70 West at Md. 65 when a dump truck attempted to change lanes and struck a Toyota Prius. After the Prius overturned in the median of the highway, two of its occupants were transported to Meritus Medican Center with injuries.
