HeraldTribune.com reports that a middle school student was injured when a box truck struck the school bus she was traveling in on State Road 64 in Manatee County, Florida. The truck’s driver stated that the brakes on the truck failed, causing the truck to slam into the rear of the school bus, which was carrying 10 students at the time of the incident. Officials are continuing their investigation of the truck crash that took place on a straight stretch of roadway in clear conditions.
TheDailyStar.com reports that a Davenport Center, New York woman was killed when a tractor-trailer failed to negotiate a turn on State Route 23 and crashed into the victim’s home, killing her as she slept. Two other people in the home were injured in the truck crash. The big rig was hauling a load of concrete at the time of the wreck. State Police investigators are looking at excessive speed as a possible cause of the accident, though no tickets have been issued.
The Frankfort Station reports that a 36-year-old woman was struck and killed by a semi truck on the Tri-State Tollway near Frankfort, Illinois. The big rig crashed into the woman’s vehicle, which was stopped on the right shoulder of the roadway, and also struck her as she stood outside the vehicle. Illinois State Police Investigations is continuing its investigation into the crash, including analyzing drug and alcohol tests of the driver of the big rig performed at the scene.
JSOnline reports that two people were left hospitalized as the result of a truck accident on U.S. Highway 45 in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. The truck crash, which is still being investigated, left 125 feet of guardrail destroyed. The driver of the big rig was not injured in the crash.

The crash occurred when the truck driver veered into the passenger vehicle while attempting to merge. Occupants of the passenger vehicle sustained minor injuries.
