The Indy Channel reports a tractor-trailer accident that left one person dead on Monday, August 1 in Mooresville, Indiana. According to police officers, a semi truck transporting mail struck a pickup truck in the southern area of Mooresville near Indiana Street and State Road 267. After the initial impact, the pickup truck was hit by an additional vehicle on the road. The pickup driver was pronounced dead. The driver of the semi and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash were not injured.
BND.com reports an accident involving three tractor-trailers on Tuesday, July 26 in Granite City, Illinois around 10am. Representatives of the Illinois State Police said that the incident started when a 2007 International truck was rear-ended by a tractor trailer. The International truck then struck a Lexus, pushing it into a ditch. The accident also wrecked a Chevy Tahoe. The driver of the Tahoe was transported to Anderson Hospital in Maryville after sustaining injuries. One of the semi truck drivers was cited with failure to reduce speed.
KRTV reports a fatality involving a semi truck on Thursday, July 28 around noon near Whitehall, Montana. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a male motorcycle driver from Ohio was struck in the rear by a semi truck on Interstate 90 close to mile marker 238. Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist was killed at the scene.
Seacoast Online reports a semi-truck accident involving multiple vehicles on Wednesday, July 27 in North Hampton, New Hampshire. Around 9:00pm, a tractor-trailer driver from Maine struck a Honda Accord on northbound Interstate 95. After both vehicles crossed the median, the Honda became lodged underneath the semi truck. A second Honda Accord also became entangled in the accident, killing a passenger inside. Six people were hurt, two of which suffered serious injuries.
