The Effingham Daily News reports a semi-truck accident that occurred on Tuesday, June 7 at 2:56pm in Neoga, Illinois. A semi-truck on Interstate 57 did not slow in time for stopped traffic and struck a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck. The Chevy then went into the median, while the semi-truck hit a van and another semi-truck in a chain reaction. A front seat passenger in the van was airlifted to the hospital and declared dead. Another passenger in the van was airlifted to the hospital after being ejected from the vehicle.
The Poughkeepsie Journal reports a tractor-trailer accident that occurred on Wednesday, June 8 in Elmsford, Westchester County, New York at 2:48pm. A group of elementary school students leaving the Bronx Zoo encountered minor injuries when a tractor-trailer struck a school bus. Ten students were treated at Westchester Medical Center after the charter bus was hit on Saw Mill River Road near an Interstate 287 entrance ramp. The tractor-trailer had lost its brakes during the incident.
Fox 59 reports a semi-truck accident on Thursday afternoon, June 9 in Lawrence, Indiana on Pendelton Pike. Officials said a box truck rear-ended a semi-truck, causing the box truck to then strike a pickup. The pickup truck driver, a 35 year-old male Pike Township firefighter, was killed. Two of his four children were traveling in the vehicle with him and it is unknown if they were injured.
The Wall Street Journal reports a tractor-trailer accident that occurred on Wednesday, June 8 shortly after 9:30am in Lake Luzerne, New York. According to a sheriff’s lieutenant, the driver of a tractor-trailer braked as a steel beam left the flatbed and struck a motorcyclist and a passenger, killing both. The accident happened near Americade at Lake George, a biking event with annual attendance of around 50,000.
