Toledoonthemove.com reports that two Toledo police officers received non life-threatening injuries on Tuesday when a tractor-trailer lost control, hit a guardrail, and jackknifed into their cruiser, which was parked on the roadside behind a disabled vehicle. The truck accident occurred at the I-280/I-75 split in Toledo. Injuries to the officers were unspecified at the time of this report.
MyFoxOrlando.com reports that one driver is dead after two semi-trailer trucks collided on the Florida Turnpike just south of State Road 528 in Orange County, Florida. Florida Highway Patrolmen report that crews had to work quickly to contain a fuel spill following the crash.
Indystar.com reports that four people were injured in a chain-reaction truck crash caused by an equipment failure on a big rig driven by a man without a valid driver’s license. The accident occurred on I-69 in Madison County, Pennsylvania and is being investigated by Indiana State Police. No word on the condition of those injured in this truck crash.
Fire engulfed two tractor-trailers that collided in Union Township, Lebanon County, on Pennsylvania’s I-78 on Friday, killing the driver of one truck. According to Fox 43.com a fully-loaded tractor trailer based out of Memphis, Tennessee rear-ended a truck from Michigan and the two trucks fused and burst into flames.
Standard.net reports that a 28-year-old pregnant woman was killed Tuesday when the semi-tractor trailer she was riding in was travelling too fast and failed to negotiate the entrance ramp to I-84 near Riverdale, Utah. Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Roden, stated that excessive speed was a factor in the truck crash.
Arkansas authorities tell KXII.com that a semi-truck crashed into vehicles stopped in a construction zone on Interstate 30 and set off an explosion that claimed four lives. Police could not identify the driver of the Freightliner truck that caused the four fatalities.
According to UPI.com an 86-year-old man and his oxen were injured when the man’s ox-drawn cart was struck by a tractor-trailer near the city of Colby, Kansas on Sunday, November 15. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, which left the elderly man hospitalized.<-->
