A woman was killed when her car crashed with an 18-wheel tractor trailer on eastbound Mississippi 22 on Thursday, April 19. The Clarion Ledger reported that the woman, who was a librarian at a nearby high school, died when her car hit the back of the tractor trailer as the two vehicles traveled beneath the Interstate 55 overpass. The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident.

The survey shows that trucks in 64% of fatal accidents were pulling one trailer. The survey also found that 32% of trucks involved in fatal truck accidents were single-unit trucks, and fewer than 4% were multi-trailer trucks.
