Personal injuryLegal term for an injury to the body, mind, or psyche, as opposed to an injury to property. attorneys know that a compelling narrative is the difference between verdicts that give clients the means to heal and the ones that leave them feeling incomplete and like justice was not served.
This is especially true in catastrophic truck accident cases, in which victims are often severely injured or have lost a loved one. For truck crash lawyer, Andy Young, nothing is more important than framing your argument around empathy.
On April 29th, As part of the Michigan Association for Justice’s Annual Trial Advocacy Seminar, the TLFTS attorney spoke to 100 trial attorneys about effective trial techniques that invoke empathy.
In his presentation, Trial Techniques that Touch the Heart, Mr. Young broke down real client stories and trial-tested arguments he’s used in the past to win (multi)million-dollar verdicts and settlements. By explaining the “why” and showing other trial attorneys how to artfully frame the facts of a case to demonstrate the gravity of the damage inflicted, Andy proved that emotion and compassion have a place in the courtroom, regardless of the area of law.
