Andy Young is the Managing Partner of the Cleveland office of The Law Firm for Truck Safety, LLP. His clients are pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, ordinary motorists, and even truck drivers, all involved in catastrophic and fatal truck crashes. Andy holds what is believed to be the largest trial verdict in the state of Ohio for a truck crash ($42.4 million as lead trial counsel for two brain-injured teenagers).

He served as a member of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA’s) Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee (MCSAC) after being appointed by the United States Secretary of Transportation. He has testified before committees in the U.S. Congress, the Ohio Senate, and the Ohio House of Representatives on trucking safety issues. He was invited by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and two safety advocacy groups to help organize and act as a moderator for two industry-related Truck Underride Roundtables.

Along with four other truck crash attorneys at The Law Firm for Truck Safety, Andy is a Class A Commercial Driver’s License holder. Andy also owns and drives a Peterbilt semi-tractor and a 45-foot car hauler trailer. This experiential knowledge makes him formidable when cross-examining truck drivers and truck company safety and administrative personnel.

Andy also serves on the Vision Zero Taskforce for the City of Cleveland, Ohio. He is frequently a guest faculty member teaching CDL candidates at the Great Lakes Truck Driving School.

Andy is board-certified in truck accident law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is the Founding Chair of the Ohio Association for Justice’s Truck Safety Section. He served as the 2023-2024 Chair for the American Association for Justice’s Trucking Litigation Group. He currently serves as the 2024-2025 chair for the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys.

Andy is a past President and a past “Member of the Year” award recipient of the Lorain County Bar Association. He is a recipient of the prestigious National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) President Award. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Andy consults with attorneys throughout the nation on truck law and trial tactics.
