The Law Firm for Truck Safety is growing its Nashville office with the addition of Attorney Nathan Gaffney. Nathan is joining Partner Matthew Wright’s team as the firm’s first attorney licensed in Georgia, extending the firm’s reach into the Southeast’s commercial trucking corridors.
For the past decade, Nathan has litigated catastrophic trucking cases across the country against some of the largest corporations in the industry, securing many verdicts and settlements in the seven- and eight-figure range. Before representing plaintiffs, he defended high-exposure catastrophic injury cases for a national trial team, experience that shaped how he now anticipates and counters the defense’s playbook. In 2015, he represented the Council of State Court Judges of Georgia before the Supreme Court of Georgia and received the Guardian of Justice Award for that work.
Nathan is also a national voice on artificial intelligence in litigation. He serves on the State Bar of Georgia’s Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Committee, sits on the executive board for the American Association for Justice’s Technology and Science Section, and chairs AI committees for AAJ’s Trucking Litigation Group and the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. He speaks and writes regularly on how AI is reshaping trial preparation, discovery, and legal ethics, and has been named to Georgia Super Lawyers every year since 2024.
“What drew me to The Law Firm for Truck Safety is the chance to bring my AI and technology background to a firm that’s growing as fast as this one is,” Nathan shared. “These tools are changing how trucking cases are built and won, and I want to help make sure that as the firm expands into new markets like Georgia, that we’re leading on that front, not catching up to it. I’m excited to be part of that growth.”
Nathan’s Georgia license gives the firm its first attorney admitted in the state, while his base in Nashville strengthens the Tennessee office’s bench alongside Partner Matthew Wright. For truck crash victims across Georgia and the broader Southeast, it means direct access to an attorney who pairs a decade of trucking trial experience with a forward-looking command of the technology now shaping how these cases are built and tried.
“Nathan’s combination of trial experience and his pioneering work in the field of AI makes him a tremendous addition to The Law Firm for Truck Safety,” Matthew said. “Nathan has established himself as a national leader in trucking litigation from his home base in Atlanta, Georgia, and anywhere truck crash victims need the kind of focused, experienced representation we built this firm to provide.”
Nathan earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Georgia State University College of Law and his B.A. from Georgia State University. He is admitted to practice law in Georgia.
