The driver of a tractor trailer may face charges after his rig carrying live hogs ran off of Interstate 40 in Duplin County, North Carolina on Sunday, Feb. 26. According to WNCT.com, the tractor trailer was traveling westbound when it veered off the highway and crashed. The driver was not injured, but some of the hogs were killed in the accident, according to the report.

According to TruckInjuries.com, a recent survey shows that a majority of fatal crashes involving tractor-trailer trucks include a truck pulling one trailer. The survey shows that trucks in 64% of fatal accidents were pulling one trailer. The survey also found that 32% of trucks involved in fatal truck accidents were single-unit trucks, and fewer than 4% were multi-trailer trucks.
