On January 24, 2012, a DistTech tractor trailer driven by truck driver Edward Mills crashed into turnpike workers near Fremont, Ohio, injuring Mills and a construction worker and killing Assistant Foreman John Fletcher. DistTech is a tanker truck company with over 400 trucks. It brags on its website about its safety performance http://www.disttech.com/news/index.htm. Let's hope that it steps up to the plate to help the Fletcher family. The cause of this tragic crash is not yet known. I offer my heartfelt sympathy to Mr. Fletcher's family for their needless loss.

I have handled many fatal truck crash cases that have occurred on the Ohio Turnpike. I have also handled several work zone cases. EVERYBODY who drives should know to be extra careful in work zones. This is particularly true of professional tractor trailer drivers who are trained to be extra cautious whenever there are people around. I should know. To become a better truck accident attorney, I went to truck driving school and obtained my CDL. I always keep an open mind until we know exactly what occurred in any given tragedy. Still, at first glance, my educated guess is that the truck driver was either tired or distracted, as commonly occurs in these situations.
