I-10, Maricopa County, Arizona
Rollover Crash | Wrongful Death
An Arizona jury awarded a $13.22 million verdict to the parents of a young man who was killed in a truck crash on I-10.
The driver of the semi-truck rolled over likely due to fatigue. As a result, a 31-year-old man unavoidably struck the eighteen-wheeler, killing him instantly.
The Arizona judge presiding over this case remitted the $13.22 million verdict. Remittitur is a reduction of the verdict that allows the person who received the verdict to accept the reduced amount or to re-try the case. The parents rejected the reduced verdict and Michael Leizerman, along with attorneys Ken Levinson and Chris Stombaugh took the parents’ cases to trial for a second time, settling the mother’s claim for a confidential amount while the jury was deliberating.
