Broadside Crash | Wrongful Death
After a hard-fought legal battle, truck crash attorney Michael Leizerman secured an $18.5M verdict for the family of a 21-year-old man who was killed in a broadside collision with a commercial motor vehicle in the spring of 2018.
The fatal crash occurred on April 27, 2018, when a Crossfire, LLC driver (Ford F-250) made a left turn onto westbound Summerfield Road from the northbound exit ramp of US-23. The driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and the 21-year-old man traveling eastbound (Honda Civic) on Summerfield Road was unable to avoid the collision. The collision resulted in the death of the young man, while the driver and passenger of Crossfire’s truck survived the crash.
Mr. Leizerman successfully argued that the crash was caused by Crossfire LLC’s driver’s failure to operate his vehicle safely, follow traffic laws, identify other vehicles on the road, and yield to oncoming traffic.
