Unsafe Driving/Operation Practices | Wrongful Death
Attorney Andy Young was able to secure a binding arbitration award of $2.5M for a dump truck driver who was driving down I-90, when the truck’s front steer axle broke free from the truck’s suspension and chassis, resulting in a crash and our client’s wrongful death.
The truck company that owned the dump truck was a chameleon carrier with vehicle maintenance violations that exceeded the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s regulatory enforcement thresholds.
Through crash investigation, was revealed the truck company changed its name and Department of Transportation (DOT) numbers on four separate occasions due to these excessive vehicle maintenance violations. The truck company’s negligent entrustment and failure to maintain the truck were the cause of the crash and our client’s death.
