The Law Firm for Truck Safety attorneys, Andy Young and Michael Leizerman, settled a case for $5M for the wife of a California man who needlessly lost his life in a truck crash on Interstate 5 in the spring of 2018.
While driving northbound down Interstate 5, a pickup truck with a utility trailer lost control and stopped across all the lanes of the interstate. The Law Firm for Truck Safety’s team of truck crash attorneys showed the trucking company and driver were negligent because a mismatch between the truck’s hitch and the trailer made the vehicle too dangerous to be on the road.
In addition to being an inherently hazardous commercial motor vehicle, the trailer was not equipped with conspicuity tape, making this already unsafe truck an even greater danger to drivers on the road that spring morning.
The truck driver who was stalled across several traffic lanes caused a collision that caused multiple traumatic injuries and killed the automobile driver.
