A man died when his car hit the wheels of a tractor trailer as both vehicles were attempting to make a left turn on U.S. 82 near Homerville, GA, on Thursday, April 5. According to The Florida Times-Union, the passenger car was eastbound on U.S. 82 and the tractor trailer was westbound when both vehicles entered the center turn lane. Upon realizing the dangers of a crash, the truck driver attempted to re-enter the traffic lane when the passenger car struck the rear wheels of the rig and ended up wedged beneath the trailer. The driver of the car was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured in the crash.
