A truck driver standing roadside near his rig on Interstate 26 near Bowman, S.C., was killed on Friday, April 27, when he was hit by another tractor trailer. According to The Times and Democrat, the 42-year-old truck driver was standing near the front of his truck in the emergency lane of I-26 in Orangeburg County when a passing tractor trailer struck him. The man was transported to a nearby medical facility, where he died of multiple internal injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
