About Andy Young
Andy Young, Managing Partner at The Law Firm for Truck Safety in Cleveland, is an Ohio truck crash lawyer with extensive experience representing clients involved in catastrophic and fatal truck crashes. As lead counsel, he secured Ohio’s largest trucking trial verdict of $42.4 million for two brain-injured teenagers.
Nationally recognized for his expertise, Andy was appointed by the United States Secretary of Transportation to serve on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA’s) Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee (MCSAC). He has testified before U.S. Congress, the Ohio Senate, and the Ohio House of Representatives on trucking safety issues, and played a crucial role in organizing industry-related Truck Underride Roundtables.
Mr. Young is a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holder and owns a Peterbilt semi-tractor and a 45-foot car hauler trailer. This firsthand experience behind the wheel of a big rig gives him an advantage when cross-examining truck drivers and assessing truck company safety practices.
He also serves on the Vision Zero Taskforce for the City of Cleveland and teaches CDL candidates at the Great Lakes Truck Driving School.
Andy's impressive credentials include being board certified in truck accident law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is the Founding Chair of the Ohio Association for Justice’s Truck Safety Section and has held various leadership roles within the American Association for Justice’s Trucking Litigation Group and the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. With his extensive knowledge, Andy consults with attorneys nationwide on truck law and trial tactics.
Matt Wright: Treasurer to Vice Chair
