    In addition to being a partner at the Law Firm for Truck Safety, Michael Leizerman is the co-founder of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys (ATAA).

    Michael and his wife and law partner, Rena Leizerman, authored the 4,000 page West/AAJ treatise, Litigating Truck Accident Cases. He was the First Chair of AAJ’s Trucking Litigation Group.

    Michael is a Class A commercial driver’s license holder and is board-certified in truck accident law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

    Rena Leizerman concentrates her practice in trial and appellate litigation involving serious personal injury and wrongful death related to commercial motor vehicle collisions. She has successfully opposed Petitions for Certiorari to the United States Supreme Court, litigated numerous issues of first impression in courts across the country and obtained the first punitive damage verdict against a freight broker for negligent selection.

    She also drafts and submits amicus curiae briefs on behalf of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys and consults with other advocacy organizations regarding amicus curiae submissions.

ATAA Educational Program for Women Plaintiffs Truck Lawyers

Don’t miss The Law Firm for Truck Safety’s Rena Leizerman and Michael Leizerman at ATAA’s Mother Tuckers event at Alaska Driving Academy in Soldotna, Alaska.

Mother Truckers is taking its rally to Alaska! This program includes classroom work with ATAA faculty experienced in trucking litigation, vehicle maintenance and proper vehicle operation combined with real hands-on experience behind the wheel of a big-rig. Additional activities like hiking, salmon fishing and glacier heli-mushing will be available when not in class.

The course is limited to 16 participants. You must complete this deposit registration of $1,250.00 due by December 5, 2022 to hold your spot in this program. The total estimated program cost is $2,500.00 and includes tuition for the trucking school and for group transportation around Alaska, including a chartered 30 minute plane to Soldotna. If you’re bringing a guest, there is a $500 charge for group transportation costs.

Saturday-5/27/23 Anchorage arrival
Sunday-5/28/23 Group transportation to Palmer, AK + classes & activities
Monday-5/29/23 Classes & activities
Tuesday-5/30/23 Group transportation to Anchorage, 30 minute flight to
Soldotna + trucking school (classroom)
Wednesday- 5/31/23 Trucking school (1/2 class + 1/2 driving)
Thursday- 6/1/23 Trucking school 1/2 day then flights out

Program Logistics and Details:

What to Book on Your Own
-Book your flight into Anchorage and from Anchorage to home. Fly in by the evening of 5/27/2023. We will plan to have you back in Anchorage by 5:00pm on 6/1/2023 to fly home.

-Lodging: For now, you only need to book your hotel in Anchorage for the night of 5/27/2023 or if you are staying past 6/1/2023 in Anchorage. There is no room block for lodging in Anchorage. Make reservations at the hotel of your choice.

Information for Later
Lodging – Palmer is in the more remote part of Alaska where less lodging is available. For now, Christy Childers has secured 24 rooms/cabins with various sleeping options and will be in touch for payment arrangements and room assignments for this leg of the trip closer to the event. Accommodations will be clean but rustic during this leg of the trip. Once you reach Soldotna there will be a room block at a modern hotel. You will receive a group code and registration link for that hotel in the near future.

Excursions – They require pre-payment in full. Christy Childers will book these and be in touch for payment arrangements.
